(00:00:00) - Hey girl. Welcome to the Purpose and Pixie Dust podcast. The podcast where we dive deep into our passions, our purpose, and really unlock our potential With the pixie dust thrown in, what is pixie dust? You might ask. It's the fun and joy that gets unlocked when you're creating and owning your magic. I'm Lindsay Dollinger, dog mama, Disney lover and high school Spanish teacher who has used my magic to grow my businesses while also working full-time. I'm on a mission to help other women create and own your magic by building not only the business of your dreams, but also the life of your dreams while still juggling life, your full-time job and all the things. So if you want more than this provincial life, let's use our glass slippers to break those glass ceilings and sprinkle lots of pixie dust into our lives and businesses. Let's do this.

(00:00:52) - Hello. Hello. Welcome back to another Purpose in Pixie Dust podcast. My name is Lindsay Dolinger and I wanna share with you today 10 ideas on things that you could email your email list this summer. So if you're like me, especially if you were listening to this to your network marketer, or you are brand new to email marketing, maybe you've never sent an email out before, ever. I was very in my head like, what could I send my email list that would provide them any type of value, would help them connect with me? Like it just didn't make sense at the beginning what that could possibly look like. And if that is you, I would first of all love to hop on a v i p one-on-one strategy call with you, because I think having another person's brain like myself who has been through that process of getting that started can be super helpful.

(00:01:43) - And I love helping people brainstorm that, but I wanted to provide a very generic list of 10 possible things. And some of these will work for you, some of them will not. And maybe my, my hope is that as you're listening to these, even if they don't pro directly pertain to you, that you will be able to find something that you're like, oh my gosh, I can't send this, but I bet I could do this. And it just kinda like sparks something in your mind of something that you can email your list this summer. Also, I wanna point out that even though we're talking specifically about email, this is great content for your social media for a live video, depending on, you know, what this is, it doesn't have to just be email, but I do think if you do not yet regularly use email, I don't just think, I know that email marketing is one of the most efficient and one of the most important pieces of your business for it to truly be yours, right?

(00:02:41) - Because we all know that something could happen to your social media account at any time, and having those email lists are so important, and we've talked about that on the podcast before. Um, but you know, I like to keep these episodes short, sweet, to the point. So I will have all of this, um, in my blog if you have not yet checked out my blog, what I do on my blog, which is essentially my website. But what I do on there is for every podcast episode, I have a blog post. So all of this is in writing and you can listen along as well. So that is linked in the show notes. If you went ahead over there and, you know, you could copy and paste it and even make it your own sort of list if you would like to. The other thing that I want to mention before we dive into this is that I have given my daily task list for your business a refresh.

(00:03:30) - It is very, um, well, I've added some things to it, I've taken some things out, modified some things, but it just looks . It just looks a lot prettier in my opinion than it used to. And a lot of, um, you know, new stuff on there. So if you downloaded that like two years ago, you definitely wanna redownload that again. So the link for that is also in the show notes. Okay, let's dive in. Some things that you can email. Your list is summer and we're doing a top 10 list. They are in no particular order. And again, these won't pertain to your business, but hopefully these give you some idea, uh, ideas of what you could do in your niche. So idea number one is to send a summer theme newsletter with updates in your business, upcoming events, promotions coming up, anything like that.

(00:04:15) - I did that a lot when I worked in, when I, when I worked in, oh my gosh, I mean, it, it was essentially like a job for me because I treated it very seriously. But when I did network marketing and that was my top thing, I loved sending out a monthly summer newsletter. In the newsletter. I included a lot of the stuff that I'm gonna mention in the next ideas that I'm, I am bringing up. But it was just really fun. It had like a very different relaxed kind of vibe than what I sent to my newsletter during the school year, since I am a teacher still. So Summer Lindsay and school year Lindsay are very different versions of Lindsay. So that was really fun just to do like a monthly newsletter that I sent at the beginning of each month to let people know what was up and coming.

(00:05:01) - Idea number two is to share your summer reading list with your audience and invite them to join you either in reading those books or maybe you're gonna do like a book club meetup. Um, that would be a really awesome way to build community. Again, this is going to depend on what your niche is, but I really think no matter who you're talking to, unless you hate reading , if you hate reading, this one's probably not the thing for you. But if you enjoy reading, I think this could be really cool. Like it doesn't, it can be business books, it could be personal development books. It could be a book about, you know, helping your kid get into college. It could be a book like the, you know, it could be a, a sch smut book. Like it doesn't, it doesn't matter. But you could also, if you have an Amazon affiliate store, link up the links directly in your email for people to purchase them and then possibly earn a little bit of affiliate income that way as well.

(00:05:56) - Idea number three is to send a summer sale or discount on your products or services. That one's a pretty basic email that you don't just do in the summer. Hopefully you are doing that year round to let people know how they can work with you. One thing that I have recently added into my emails that I'm sending, um, this is gonna be like a monthly email, and I heard this on a podcast, I was like, that's so smart. It's just a monthly email. Here's how you can work with me this month. These are all the things that I have going on. So I thought that was a, a smart idea to add that into a monthly rotation of your normal emails. Idea number four, share a summer inspired recipe or a meal plan that aligned with your brand or values. So maybe you are all about healthy living.

(00:06:41) - Maybe you're not . Maybe you're all about enjoying your meals. Maybe you're about, um, you know, how to do things quicker or on a budget. Like I feel like even though I, my brand really has nothing to do with eating or food or anything like that, this wouldn't be weird for me to share, like, Hey, this is a recipe I tried that's really good that I was able to make in five minutes or less because time management and productivity is one of the things that I talk about. So you can twist this one for sure to fit a lot of your niche. Idea number five is to send out a survey or a poll to your audience together some feedback or insight on what their summer plan and interest is. This is another way that you can tell them what you were up to. This summer, especially like for me, I'm going to be out of the country for two weeks, a little over two weeks actually in June.

(00:07:32) - Um, and again in July, some for my retreat. So I always like to let people know ahead of time, like, Hey, I'm getting ready to do this thing. Here's what I'm gonna be doing. Also is very much me kind of passively being like, also fyi, I'm going to be out of the office. But this is a great way to create community and get to know your audience for them to get to know more about you and your life. So sending those a little bit more personal emails I think are really fun. Idea number six, share your summer bucket list and invite your audience to join in on the fun. So this could be even a challenge that you do. So like I'm envisioning you pulling up a Canva, almost like a bingo card sort of deal with different things to do during the summer and invite your audience to join in on what you are planning on doing for your summer bucket list.

(00:08:23) - So like sleep in, um, take the dog for a walk in a new state park. Like, I don't know, , I'm just like throwing out random things off the top of my head right now. I have none of this pre-planned, but you know, something that's on your summer bucket list. Check out a new restaurant, eat outside at a patio at a restaurant you've never eaten at. Um, and I think that could be another really fun thing that you do to build community idea number seven, send a personalized thank you email to your subscribers for their support and engagement with your business. That is one that you don't have to wait to do until summer. But if you have not done that in a while, those are really fun emails to get. I, I have been the receiver of those in people's email lists myself and I'd like to send an email like that out from time to time in my business too, just being like, Hey, just wanted to let you know.

(00:09:11) - I appreciate you. Thank you so much, XL Lindsay. Idea number eight, host a summer themed giveaway or a contest to incentivize engagement and build your email list. Lots we could go into with that. So that is one that you would probably also run on social media and have some sort of like a downloadable or a freebie that gets people on your email list. Um, and there's all sorts of things that you could do around a giveaway or contest here, but those can be really fun and a really nice way to get the engagement up because we all know that engagement tends to dip a little bit during summer months because people are outside, they're on vacation, they're enjoying time with their family and friends, which we should be doing that as well, right? So being really intentional and smart about how we do these things is going to save us a lot of time and also keep our business very active year round.

(00:10:05) - All right, idea number nine. Share behind the scenes content of your summer adventures or projects to really build that like no, like trust factor so people really get to know you. Um, I had a coach one time that said that she always strategically planned launches for right after she got back from a vacation or a trip because her social media content was always doing so much better because people were watching to see what she was up to. Everyone wants to know what you're doing, right? We are all nosy, nosy, nosy people. We wanna know what everyone else is doing. We, we see people, especially if they're traveling, we're like, oh my gosh, what are they doing now? What are they eating? What's the weather like? Um, you know, what's some kind of story that she is sharing on her trip? Super juicy. So I also am planning on launching something after some of my travels this summer because I know people are going to be watching to see what I'm doing, especially since I'm taking 22 other people to Europe with me, high school students and adults.

(00:11:06) - And we all know that that has total potential to be a shit show. So , if you wanna follow along behind the scenes, uh, in my Instagram, Facebook, I will be posting as much as I can. Um, but that is also, again, very intentional. And last idea, idea number 10, send a mid-summer check-in email to your subscribers just to see how their summer's going. And you can provide support and resources if needed. You can say, you know, if you're feeling like this, here is a freebie that I have created for you. If this is more, you know, your cup of tea, here's something that you can, um, go watch of mine that I have. I did a live two weeks ago on it. Here's the link. If you do lives on Facebook, um, Instagram, if you post videos to YouTube, definitely make sure that you are taking the time to market them, even if they are past videos.

(00:12:00) - Um, you know, if it pertains to something and it can help someone, which I'm sure some of your content can do, then make sure that you sneak that into your emails. Like, Hey, did you catch my live video that I did on 10 ways to x, y, z? If not, here's the link. That's a really great way to drive traffic. You know, we, we want to have our ecosystems of traffic coexisting. So ideally someone is following you on social, they're also on your email list and vice versa. So we wanna be sure, no matter how people initially get into our ecosystem, that they're able to to touch base with us in all these different ways because hopefully our content's a little bit different on all of them. You're gonna show up a little bit differently. Like how I show up on Instagram is a little bit different than how I show up on Facebook.

(00:12:46) - Likewise, you know, I don't put a lot of, um, video actually in my email, although that is something that I have as a goal to do because I don't think a lot of people do that. Um, but I do know there are people who are just on my email list, they don't follow me on social and vice versa. I have a ton of followers on social who are not yet on my email list. So if we are able to kind of drive people, you know, from one platform to another, it's a great way for them to know, like, and trust you even quicker. They're, you know, you have a lot more touchpoints for people so that when you are launching something, when the time has come for, you know, you to get more podcast listeners, whatever it is, they have seen you across multiple platforms and they're like, oh yeah, for sure I need to do that.

(00:13:33) - I forgot . So that's one of my, um, big tips on making sure that you keep your audience engaged and connected across, you know, all the platforms. All right, friend, I hope you found this helpful. Again, those are in no particular order and even if some of them don't pertain to you, hopefully there is something that I said that you're like, oh my gosh, yes, I can totally apply this to my business. And you can, you know, we're not quite into the debt of summer yet. So you can start kind of plating ahead and, you know, batch your emails out, put 'em in a Google Doc so that you can quickly just copy and paste and send them out if you don't have a provider that schedules them for you. I use Cajabi. It's a one like, uh, what's the word? Everything is in, it's an all in one .

(00:14:19) - I was trying to start with the word all one and it says all in one platform. So my email is in there, my blog is in there, all my products, my offers are in there. It collects money for me. Just all the things, like everything I do is in Cajabi. And so I am able to go into Cajabi and schedule out emails, which is actually what I'm working on now for all the weeks that I'm going to be out of town because I wanna make sure that I'm still showing up for my audience, just like how I am batching up my podcast ahead of time as well, so that I make sure again, that I'm still showing up. You know, because I, this is serious for me. Like this is a business and I wanna be consistent. I wanna make sure that I'm showing other people that it's possible and what is possible and it's a hundred percent possible to plan ahead and get all of this batched out so that you can enjoy your summer so much.

(00:15:09) - I, I don't wanna say so much more cause I don't wanna assume things, but you know, you will have to think about your business a lot less if you, if you make these plans and you put all of this in action now. So head to the links in the show notes for the block if you wanna see all these like listed out for you as well as if you have not downloaded my business tasks freebie. Like I said, I got a f facelift, so that's really fun. And Fran, if you have not yet left the show rating and review, I would love that. I would so much appreciate it. It takes two seconds. If you are an Apple podcast, I kind of think that's the only player that you can review. I could be wrong if I'm wrong, let me know, please . But if you're on Apple Podcast, just scroll down super quick and you can tap the five stars and click to write a review.

(00:15:54) - A sentence or two would mean the world to me, and I appreciate you so, so, so much. Go out there, create an on your magic. Let me know how I can best support you. I am totally here for it, and keep those ears tuned for something super exciting that I am launching very, very, very, very soon. All right friend, bye-bye. And that's a wrap on today's episode. I hope you're leaving today Inspired Princess to create own and spread your magic to the world. If you found value in this episode or no, a girlfriend who needs to hear it, would you screenshot it and send it to her? And if you're feeling really generous, pop it up on your IG stories and tag me at Lindsay Dollinger so I can see you loved it and tell you thank you. I appreciate you. Now let's go do some amazing things. Bye-bye.
