🌺 A Little Life Update (and Why It Matters for You)

I just got back from an amazing trip to Hawaii (state #47 — only 3 more to go!). It was my first time there, and it was magical.

Because I batch-recorded all of June’s podcasts in May, my business ran on autopilot while I was unplugged.
Content kept rolling.
Value kept going out.
And you probably didn’t even notice I was sipping pineapple smoothies on a beach.

Batching works.
If you want time freedom, you need batching.

But that’s not what today’s lesson is about.

During the trip—and especially the days after—I had a realization that I think every network marketer needs to hear.

⭐ The Question That Hit Me Hard:

“When’s the last time you asked someone to join your team or try your product?”

Not when you posted about it.
Not when you shared it in your stories.
Not when you hoped someone would reach out.

But when you asked.

A simple, genuine, human ask:

✨ “Have you ever considered trying ___?”
✨ “Would you like more info about what I do?”
✨ “I actually thought of you because ___ — want to hear more?”
✨ “I have a sample with your name on it, want it?”

Because here’s the truth:

➡️ Posting is not asking.
➡️ Stories are not asking.
➡️ Being excited in your head is not asking.

People are busy.
They’re distracted.
They’re overwhelmed.

And 99% of them will not magically message you out of the blue.

They need the invitation.

🙋‍♀️ “But Lindsay… I don’t want to be spammy.”

Same, friend. SAME.

Which is why I’m not telling you to cold pitch strangers.

There’s a huge difference between:

❌ Copy-pasting spam messages
❌ Sending offers to people you’ve never talked to
❌ Jumping into someone’s DMs without context

and…

✨ Building a connection
✨ Listening to what someone says
✨ Hearing their needs
✨ Offering the right solution
✨ Asking a genuine question

When your ask comes from:

  • relationship
  • service
  • good intentions
  • a desire to help

…it never feels icky.

It feels aligned.

💡 Ask Yourself:

“Have I been hoping for sales—or creating them?”

When I looked back at my own dry spell (which makes sense because I was in full vacation mode), I realized:

I hadn’t been asking.
I hadn’t been following up.
I hadn’t been starting conversations.

I was expecting momentum without fueling momentum.

And your business won’t grow from autopilot alone.
It grows from connection and conversation.

🗂️ Pull Out Your CRM and Look Honestly

If you use Trello (or another CRM), here’s your assignment:

➡️ Look at your list of potential customers
➡️ Look at your list of current customers
➡️ Look at the conversations you started
➡️ Look at the ones you never followed up on
➡️ And ask yourself…

“Who can I connect with today—and who can I ask?”

Your business grows with intentionality.

🌱 The Ask Doesn’t Have to Be Awkward

Here are a few examples that are direct but not spammy:

For product interest:
“Hey! You mentioned feeling exhausted lately—would you like a sample of the supplement I use? It helped me so much.”

For the business opportunity:
“You popped into my mind today! Have you ever considered doing what I do? Zero pressure—I just thought you’d be so good at it.”

For already-warm leads:
“I’d love to help you get started if you’re ready—want the info?”

For follow-up:
“Just wanted to circle back—still curious? If not, all good!”

The secret is simple:

💗 Care more about the person than the sale.
💗 Offer the solution, not the pitch.

That’s it.

⚡ If You Haven’t Asked Lately… That’s Your Sign

Go back through your conversations.

✨ Who did you ghost (accidentally)?
✨ Who expressed interest but never followed through?
✨ Who clicked your link but didn’t buy?
✨ Who commented on your transformation story?

Those people need a gentle nudge.
A caring check-in.
A simple question.

Your next customer—or teammate—might be one ask away.

💬 If You Ever Sent a Spammy Message… Here’s What to Do

Own it.

Seriously.
A message like this works wonders:

“Hey—I looked back at what I sent and realized it came off really spammy. I’m sorry about that. I’m learning how to build my business better. No pressure at all, but if you ever want info, I’m here!”

Authenticity repairs almost everything.

🌟 Final Thought: Your Business Grows When You Start the Conversation

People are not mind-readers.

If you don’t ask, they won’t know.
If you don’t invite, they won’t join.
If you don’t offer, they won’t try.

Take the step.
Start the conversation.
Ask the question.

You might be surprised how many people say,
👉 “Actually… yes.”
