🎁 The Holidays Are Coming — Are You Ready?
Hey friend — it’s that time of year again! The holidays might still feel a little far off, but trust me… they’ll be here faster than you can say pumpkin spice latte.
Big box stores are already rolling out early Black Friday deals, and economists are predicting that shoppers may start buying gifts earlier than ever this year. That means if you wait until December to promote your holiday offers, you could miss a major wave of sales.
So today’s quick biz tip is simple but powerful:
Start planning (and promoting) your holiday sales right now.
Even if it feels early, your audience is already in shopping mode — and you want to be top of mind when they’re ready to buy.
🪄 Step 1: Make Your Holiday Sales Plan Now
If you haven’t already, block out an hour this week to map out your:
- 🎉 Holiday promos (Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday)
- 🎁 Gift bundles or curated product sets
- 💌 Gift certificates or experience packages
- 📅 Timeline for when you’ll promote each one
You don’t need a 10-step strategy — just a clear, simple plan to help your customers know how they can shop with you.
Pro tip: If you already have a best-selling offer, think about how to make it giftable! For example:
- Add festive packaging or “ready-to-gift” wrapping.
- Create themed bundles (“Self-Care Sunday Kit” or “Holiday Glow Bundle”).
- Offer digital gift cards for last-minute shoppers.
💖 Step 2: Make It Easy for People to Buy from You
We’re all busy during the holidays — so the easier you make it to shop with you, the better.
Think about how you can:
✨ Offer pre-wrapped gifts or local pickup.
✨ Sell gift bundles directly through your checkout page.
✨ Create “shop for her / shop for him” lists.
✨ Run a fun “Secret Santa” or “Wish List” promotion where customers can send their list to a friend or spouse.
Make it so effortless that your customers think, “Why would I shop anywhere else?”
🎅 Step 3: Get Visible Early
Don’t wait until Thanksgiving week to post your offers. Start sprinkling in gift ideas and holiday messaging now.
Here are a few ideas to promote early:
🎁 Share “Gift of the Week” spotlights on social media.
🎥 Go live to show off holiday bundles or unbox items.
📧 Email your list with holiday gift guides or limited-time discounts.
💬 Use stories or reels to highlight easy gift options (“Need a quick gift for your bestie? I’ve got you!”).
Consistency builds awareness, and awareness builds sales.
❄️ Step 4: Plan for January Sales, Too
Here’s a bonus tip most entrepreneurs forget: plan for what happens after the holidays.
If your business usually slows down in January, set yourself up for success by encouraging customers to come back next month.
Ideas include:
✨ Giving a small bonus gift card for January purchases (buy $25, get $10 free).
✨ Launching a “New Year, New You” or “Refresh” promotion.
✨ Sending follow-up emails in early January with reminders to use gift certificates.
Remember, sales momentum doesn’t have to stop when the holiday lights come down.
