444. Why Mindset Matters More Than Marketing in Entrepreneurship

Published on

Listen to the episode of the podcast here:

Hey hey, friend 👋

Let’s talk about something that honestly does not get enough real, honest attention in entrepreneurship

Your mindset.

And I know—before you roll your eyes and think, “I’m not a woo-woo person” or “I already listen to positive podcasts, I’m good…”—stay with me for a second.

Because this?
This is the thing that will either fuel your business growth… or quietly hold it back.

And I say that from experience.

Why Mindset Matters More Than Strategy

You can have:

  • The perfect niche
  • A beautiful website
  • A strong social media presence
  • The best travel offers

…but if your mindset is shaky?

Your business is going to feel way harder than it needs to be.

Mindset isn’t fluff—it’s the foundation.

If you’re constantly operating from:

  • Stress
  • Overwhelm
  • Fear
  • Burnout

…then even the best strategy won’t work the way you want it to.

The Entrepreneur Emotional Rollercoaster (Let’s Be Honest)

One day you’re like:

✨ “I’m a genius. My business is thriving. Clients are coming to me!”

And the next?

🔥 “Why am I doing this? Let’s burn it all down.”

Sound familiar?

Congratulations—you’re an entrepreneur 😂

This rollercoaster is normal, especially for women navigating:

  • Hormones
  • Life responsibilities
  • Business growth
  • Inconsistent income

You’re not broken. You’re building something real.

The Mindset Struggles No One Talks About Enough

1. Comparison (Thanks, Social Media 🙃)

Everyone online looks like they’re:

  • Fully booked
  • Scaling to six figures
  • Traveling the world nonstop

But remember this:

👉 You’re seeing the highlight reel—not the full story.

You don’t see:

  • Failed launches
  • Slow months
  • Difficult clients
  • Behind-the-scenes stress

Comparison will destroy your confidence faster than anything else if you let it.

2. Perfectionism = Procrastination in Disguise

Waiting until things are “perfect” before you:

  • Post content
  • Show up on video
  • Launch an offer

…is actually just fear.

Let me say that again:

👉 Perfectionism is fear in a cute outfit.

Progress builds your business.
Perfection delays it.

3. Burnout (Especially for Travel Advisors)

When you love what you do, it’s easy to:

  • Answer messages late at night
  • Check emails constantly
  • Say yes to everything

But here’s the truth:

👉 If you don’t protect your energy, burnout is inevitable.

And burnout doesn’t just hurt your business—it impacts your:

  • Mood
  • Relationships
  • Health

What Actually Helps (Real-Life Strategies)

Let’s get into the good stuff—the things that actually make a difference.

✨ 1. Separate Your Worth from Your Business Results

A slow week?
→ Doesn’t mean you’re failing.

A client saying no?
→ Doesn’t mean you’re not valuable.

Getting ghosted?
→ Doesn’t mean you’re not good at what you do.

You are not your sales numbers.

You are a whole, incredible human building something meaningful.

✨ 2. Set Boundaries (Yes, You Need Them)

Especially as a travel advisor.

Try this:

  • Set office hours
  • Stop responding to non-emergencies at night
  • Schedule emails instead of sending immediately

Your business does not need you 24/7 to succeed.

✨ 3. Take Actual Time Off

I’m about to go on a cruise out of New Orleans 🚢 (so excited!)
And guess what?

I’m not working.

Because:

  • Content is batched
  • Emails are scheduled
  • Systems are in place

👉 Your business can run without you for a few days.

And it will actually grow better when you’re rested.

✨ 4. Use Tools & Support to Save Your Energy

If you’re not ready for a VA yet, start with:

  • Automation tools
  • Templates
  • Pre-written content
  • CRM systems

If you are ready?

Hire support—even part-time.

You don’t have to do everything yourself.

✨ 5. Take Care of Your Body (It Matters More Than You Think)

Your mental health and physical health are deeply connected.

Focus on:

  • Sleep (game changer!)
  • Movement (walks, workouts, Pilates—whatever works for you)
  • Getting outside when you can
  • Limiting information overload

Even small changes = huge impact.

✨ 6. Stay Connected to Community

Entrepreneurship can feel lonely.

That’s why you need:

  • Other travel advisors
  • Business communities
  • Masterminds or group support

Being around people who get it makes everything easier.

Don’t Forget Your “Why”

When things feel hard, come back to this:

Why did you start?

For most travel advisors, it’s:

  • Freedom
  • Flexibility
  • More income
  • Travel opportunities
  • Building something meaningful

You’re not just:

  • Posting content
  • Booking trips
  • Running a business

✨ You’re building a life most people only dream about.

Final Reminder (Your Pep Talk 💖)

If you take one thing from this, let it be this:

👉 Your mindset is one of the most valuable assets in your business.

Protect it.

Support it.

Nurture it.

Because success in this industry isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about:

  • Showing up
  • Learning
  • Growing
  • Continuing… even when it feels hard

Your Next Step

👉 What’s one thing you’re doing today to support your mindset?

Decide it. Do it. Stick with it.

And if you know someone who needs this reminder, send this their way 💕

✨ Keep chasing the freedom, the flexibility, and the life you started this business for.

You’ve got this, friend.
