Leveling Up Your Business: How to Step Into Your Next-Level Self
Hi, friend!
Welcome back to the Passports, Profits and Pixie Dust. I’m Lindsay Dollinger—high school Spanish teacher, dog mom, world traveler, and direct seller. I help women build their businesses the right way so they can earn the money they deserve, live the life they dream of, and travel the world.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way… let’s dive into today’s topic:
✨ LEVELING UP. ✨
If you’re ready for the next rank…
If you want to make more money…
If you want to grow your team…
Then it’s officially time to level up your business —and yourself.
Let’s talk about what that actually looks like.
First: Unlock Your Inner Potential
Take a second and pause.
(If you’re driving, keep those eyes open.)
Close your eyes if you can and think about this:
👉 What are you truly capable of?
If you went ALL IN for:
- Six months
- One year
- Two years
- Five years
…what would your life look like?
Picture it:
- What rank would you be?
- What would your team look like?
- How large would your customer base be?
- What would your social media presence look like?
- How would you show up?
- What kind of house are you living in?
- How do you feel being the next-level version of yourself?
Hold that vision for a second.
Because here’s the truth:
👉 You ARE capable of that. One hundred percent.
Even if your team is currently at zero… that big, bold, successful version of your business is within reach.
Learn From Those Already Living Your Next Level
Think about the leaders you admire in your company.
Not necessarily your upline—anyone you look up to:
- How do they lead?
- How do they respond to challenges?
- How do they treat their team?
- What do they post on social media?
- How do they handle negativity or obstacles?
Example from my Color Street business:
During the massive growth of 2020, we had inventory issues. Old me—pre-personal development, pre-mindset work, pre-network marketing maturity—would have FREAKED OUT.
But watching top leaders who:
✔️ Responded with grace
✔️ Waited for accurate info
✔️ Communicated calmly
✔️ Pivoted their strategies
✔️ Encouraged their teams
✔️ Focused on solutions, not drama
…that’s the behavior I now model.
THAT is leveling up.
Before reacting, ask yourself:
👉 How would my next-level self handle this?
👉 How would the leader I admire handle this?
And then do that.
Audit Your Social Media Like a Leader
Take a look at your social media as if you’re someone finding you for the first time.
Ask yourself:
- Does this represent the elevated version of me?
- Am I attracting my ideal customers and teammates?
- Would someone follow me for inspiration, value, or leadership?
Top leaders’ accounts generally DO NOT:
❌ Use stock photos
❌ Share political rants
❌ Post constant negativity
❌ Talk about drama
❌ Share low-energy content
❌ Overshare about COVID, illnesses, tragedies, etc.
Instead, their feeds are:
✨ Clean
✨ Branded
✨ Value-driven
✨ Positive
✨ Story-rich
✨ Personal but professional
If you need help, ask a trusted friend:
“What words come to mind when you scroll my profile?”
Be brave. Take the feedback. And adjust.
Level Up How You Serve Your Team
Whether your team is:
- 0
- 2
- 10
- 50
- 500
…you can start acting like the leader you want to be right now.
Here’s how:
✔️ 1. Connect individually
Send personal welcome messages.
Use voice memos.
Do quick video chats with new teammates.
✔️ 2. Add value
Share party scripts.
Share Canva templates.
Share things that WORK for you.
✔️ 3. Borrow from your upline
Don’t reinvent the wheel when your time is better spent building your own business.
✔️ 4. Create systems early
A Google Doc with:
- New stylist checklist
- Compensation plan
- How to navigate your back office
- FAQ
- Graphics resources
- Party templates
- Training vault
This saves HOURS as your team grows.
✔️ 5. Host consistent team opportunities
It can be:
- Biweekly Zooms
- Opportunity calls
- Power hours
- Training nights
The earlier you build leadership habits, the easier the big team will be later.
Think Like Your Highest Rank NOW
If your dream rank is the top of your company, ask yourself:
👉 What does someone at that level do… daily?
Chances are:
- They have set work hours
- They show up consistently
- They treat customers like gold
- They practice personal development
- They work from a business plan
- They do mindset work
- They don’t dwell in drama
- They don’t get distracted by negativity
- They focus heavily on relationships
- They lead with vision
Become her NOW, not later.
You’ll rise into that position far faster.
Outsource Before You Think You’re Ready
Leaders outsource.
Busy, overwhelmed, stressed women don’t.
Some things you can outsource TODAY:
- Grocery pickup / Instacart
- Meal subscription boxes (Green Chef is my fave!)
- Housecleaning (even once a month)
- Canva graphics
- Admin tasks via Fiverr or Upwork
- A virtual assistant for simple tasks
- Social media scheduling
Ask yourself:
👉 What tasks drain me but don’t require ME?
Outsource those.
You don’t need to delegate your authenticity, your leadership, your messaging, or your relationships.
But everything else?
You can absolutely get help with.
Personal Development = Non-Negotiable
To reach your next level, you MUST:
✔️ Read
✔️ Listen
✔️ Watch
✔️ Learn
✔️ Invest in growth
Every leader I know…
- Reads personal development
- Listens to podcasts
- Hires coaches
- Joins paid programs
- Protects their mindset
- Values mentorship
And YES—free groups are great.
But paid mentorship takes you further, faster.
Because when you pay?
You pay attention.
Build Better Relationships
Your business will grow in direct proportion to:
👉 How many conversations you have
👉 How deeply you connect
👉 How consistently you follow up
👉 How much value you give
You can always:
- Talk to 1 more person
- Add 1 more friend
- Comment on 1 more post
- Send 1 more voice memo
Small daily efforts turn into massive growth over time.
Remember: New Level, New Devil
Every time you rise, new challenges appear.
More customers = more chances for issues.
More teammates = more personalities to lead.
More rank = more responsibility.
More visibility = more eyes on you.
But guess what?
You can handle every challenge that comes with the next level.
Because you’re becoming the person capable of holding it.
Final Thought: Your Actions Move Mountains
I’ll leave you with this powerful Mel Robbins quote:
✨ “Your doubts create mountains. Your actions move them.” ✨
You KNOW who your next-level self is.
You can picture her clearly:
- How she leads
- How she shows up
- What she wears
- How she acts
- What she believes
- How she speaks
- How she treats people
- What her results look like
Now it’s time to become her.
Take the next step.
Make the next move.
Show up like HER today.
You’ve got this, friend.
Go level up. 💛✨
