Passports, Profits and Pixie Dust Podcast Episode 49: Biz Tip Thursday: Tough Love — You’re NOT Doing All The Things

Doing “All the Things” But Still Not Seeing Results? Here’s the Truth No One Wants to Admit (But You Need to Hear It)

This is another one of my car talk business-tip episodes—the ones where it feels like we’re just girlfriends chatting in the car, talking about life and business between errands. So buckle up, because today’s topic is a biggie.

“I’m Doing All the Things… So Why Isn’t My Business Growing?”

If you’ve ever said (or thought) this, you are so not alone.
My clients say it.
My teammates say it.
I say it sometimes too.

But here’s the real, honest, slightly uncomfortable truth:

👉 You’re probably not doing all the things.
And I mean that with love.

When we feel stuck, frustrated, or unsure of ourselves, our brains trick us into believing we’re working so hard—when really, we’re spinning our wheels on the wrong things.

What You Think Is “Working”… Might Actually Be Hiding You

Let’s just rip the Band-Aid off:

A VIP group alone will not grow your business.
Cute graphics alone will not grow your business.
Posting in your group alone will not grow your business.

These things help with visibility, but visibility is not the same as:

  • building relationships
  • creating curiosity
  • inviting
  • following up
  • meeting new people
  • showing your face
  • connecting at a deeper level

Most biz owners who say they’re “doing everything” are usually:

❌ Hiding behind cute but ineffective posts
❌ Doing tasks that feel productive but don’t bring results
❌ Avoiding the parts of business that actually move the needle

Oof. I know. I’ve been there too.

Why People Aren’t Engaging, Buying, or Booking

Here’s the simplest explanation:

➡️ People take action when they feel connected to you.
➡️ People don’t take action when they don’t know you.

If you’re posting in your group all the time but not having conversations?

If your group feels like a product catalog instead of a cozy corner of the internet where you show up as YOU?

If you never message, follow-up, connect, or talk to your customers outside of sales?

Then it’s not that your audience is “dead.”
You just haven’t built enough relationship equity.

And that’s GREAT news because you can fix it quickly.

The Relationship-Building Formula (That Actually Works)

Here’s where the magic happens:

1. Get in the DMs

Not with “Hey girl” messages.
Not with generic copy/paste scripts.

But with:

✨ “How are you?”
✨ “I saw your daughter had a birthday—how fun!”
✨ “Your vacation pics are everything!! When do you leave?”

Real humans. Real connections.

2. Follow the 2-2-2 Follow-Up Method

  • 2 days after they order → check in
  • 2 weeks later → did they try it?
  • 2 months later → reorder time

People LOVE being taken care of.

3. Use Video to Build Trust Faster

Lives.
Stories.
Videos in emails.

Video shortcuts the “know-like-trust” factor.
People will buy from you simply because they feel connected to your energy.

4. Show Your Life

On stories especially:

Your pets
Your food
Your car chats
Your outfits
Your classroom
Your workouts
Your coffee
Your Disney obsession (hi, it’s me 🙋🏻‍♀️)

Your brand is YOU—not your product.

What to STOP Doing Immediately

These things drain your time and produce very little ROI:

❌ Posting daily “National Day” graphics (unless people interact with them)
❌ Writing five-paragraph captions in your VIP group
❌ Spending hours creating Canva graphics
❌ Doing weekly “Girls Nights In” no one attends
❌ Waiting for people to magically appear in your inbox

If it’s not producing results, it’s time to pivot.

Use the Search Bar, Friend

If you’re struggling with something, don’t go straight to “I can’t.”
Go straight to:

👉 Search the team group
👉 Search the company page
👉 Search YouTube
👉 Search other leaders’ trainings

I built a top 1% business with ZERO hands-on upline support.
Search bars + Google + YouTube University were my up-line.
And honestly?
They made me stronger.

The people who succeed aren’t the people with the best upline—
They’re the people who take initiative.

The 80/20 Rule Will Change How You Lead

If you’re building a team, listen closely:

👉 20% of your team will do 80% of the work.
👉 80% of your team will do 20% of the work.

Pour the majority of your time into the women who TAKE ACTION.
Not the women who only ask for help but never implement.

This boundary will save your sanity.

Let’s Talk About My Own Wake-Up Call

Yep. Even high-achievers fall off track.

I got COVID at the end of November.
I was down for two weeks.
Then work hit me like a truck.
Then vacation.
Then holidays.
Then regrouping.

For almost an entire month, I:

  • didn’t reach out
  • didn’t build new relationships
  • didn’t invite
  • didn’t do the foundational work

And in January?

👉 For the first time in 18 months, I sponsored zero new team members.

It hurt.
It humbled me.
It reminded me:

Your back office today reflects the actions you took 1–3 months ago.

And my December actions caught up to me.

But the good news?

If you don’t like where you are today,
you can change your actions TODAY
and you will change your results TOMORROW.

So What Should You Do TODAY?

Here are simple actions that move your business forward immediately:

✨ Add 1–3 new social media friends
✨ Message 3 people today—just because
✨ Do a Facebook or IG story about your life
✨ Go live (yes, YOU!)
✨ Send an email to your customers
✨ Follow up with someone who ordered
✨ Post something real—not a graphic
✨ Do a random act of kindness
✨ Reach out to a VIP customer just to say hi

Small steps.
Massive impact.

And the Most Woo-Woo (but Most True) Tip of All…

Your energy matters more than anything.

People can FEEL:

  • desperation
  • obligation
  • exhaustion
  • fear
  • uncertainty

They can also feel:

  • confidence
  • excitement
  • joy
  • belief
  • alignment
  • intention

Before you send messages, get into the energy you want your business to have.

Dance it out.
Say affirmations.
Shake it off.
Put on hype music.
Borrow my belief if you need to.

I believe in you.
Borrow that belief until you believe in yourself.

Final Thoughts: Your Business Can Change TODAY

No matter how off-track you feel…
No matter how discouraged you are…
No matter how stuck things appear…

Your business can shift today.

You can start fresh today.

You can take action today.

And months from now, you’ll be so grateful you didn’t quit.

If this blog helped you, screenshot it and share it with your team.
Someone on your downline desperately needs to hear this reminder right now.

You’ve got this, girl.
I’m cheering for you always. 💖
