 #Girlboss Podcasts I’m Lovin’

Published on

So I must have been living under a rock the past, I dunno, five years.  Or however many years my friends have been trying to get me on the podcast bandwagon.  The first one I heard of was Serial.  All my teacher friends were raving about it and even were doing lessons about it in their classes.  I also recall the beginning of summer this year listening to a teacher professional development about bringing podcasts to our classrooms, and while I was slightly intrigued, I just couldn’t get into it.  I liked reading what I learned.  I liked listening to music in the car during my thirty minute commute every morning and night.  I would not be a podcaster (is that a word?)…until now.

This summer I was introduced to the world of Rachel Hollis.  If you don’t know who she is, stop reading this post, log into Facebook or Insta and search her. She is the ultimate girl boss goddess, showing women everywhere that hard work can lead to the most amazing dreams coming true, even if you have to fail a few hundred times first.  I first met her by reading her book I was seeing everywhere,
Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be.  Then I watched her documentary in theaters right before school started again (I was hooked then). When I learned she also had a podcast, I thought, ‘okay, okay, fine.  Let me search for my podcast app and see what this is all about.’  I downloaded and listened to one random episode and by the end of the night I had searched for and downloaded over 40 podcasts on my app.  No joke.  So, since I’m basically the podcast pro now (I joke, I’m totally not!), I want to share some of my current favorite ones with you in the hopes that you will find one that speaks to your soul as well!

In no particular order…

  1. RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis
  2. The Goal Digger Podcast with Jenna Kutcher
  3. Boss Girl Creative with Taylor Bradford
  4. She’s Building Her Empire by Stacy Tusch
  5. She Did It Her Way by Amanda Boleyn
  6. The Female Entrepreneur’s Journey by Danielle Klemm
  7. The Grind & Be Grateful Podcast by Marie Wold
  8. The Guava Girl Podcast with Isabella Silverio
  9. Earn Your Happy Podcast by Lori Harder
  10.  The Chalene Show by Chalene Johnson

I’ll break down why I love these ten podcasts in a future post, but for now, I encourage you if you don’t listen to podcasts yet, look up one of these or in the search area on your podcast app, type in a keyword that interests you.  You’ll be amazed at all of this free knowledge at your finger tips!  My commute and morning routine has been transformed.  I listen to parts of podcasts while I’m getting ready in the morning and almost every time I’m in the car now.  My attitude has morphed into a more optimistic view of my day every morning as well, just because instead of starting my day on social media, I’m listening to inspiring stories to get my creative juices flowing.  Give it a try, even if just for a week!

Share your favorite podcasts below! I’m always looking to add another one to my subscription list.

Xo,

Lindsay
