When Your Business Feels Heavy… It’s Time to Simplify

A few weeks ago, I shared with you some behind-the-scenes struggles in my personal business. I’m in the field right alongside you—I’m in the top 1% of my party-plan company, and I have the same ups and downs that every direct seller experiences.

Between being sick, taking a week-long vacation, and winter burnout (hello seasonal depression in Ohio 😩), my mindset took a hit. The lack of results that followed? Yeah… that was my own inaction staring me in the face.

So what did I do?

I did what many of us do when things feel off:
👉 I started looking for NEW strategies
👉 NEW tactics
👉 NEW “secret moves”

Instead of focusing on what I knew already worked.

Thankfully, I talked this through with my coaches, and they pointed me right back home.

The Answer Wasn’t More. It Was LESS.

What they reminded me (and what I want to remind you) is this:

✨ You do NOT need to reinvent the wheel.
✨ You do NOT need to hustle harder.
✨ You do NOT need to add 10 new things to your plate.

You need to get back to the basics:

  • Connections with people
  • Inviting (to your product, your team, your events)
  • Serving your customers well
  • Finding new people consistently

And you know what happened when I simplified?

Everything shifted.

The Importance of Taking the Pressure Off

I made intentional changes the last few weeks that created space for clarity:

✔️ Turned off Facebook Messenger notifications
✔️ Allowed others in team chats to answer questions instead of jumping in immediately
✔️ Stopped being “on call” 24/7
✔️ Focused on small, daily actions instead of perfection
✔️ Gave myself permission to breathe and recalibrate

It wasn’t stepping back from my business—it was stepping back from the pressure I placed on myself.

And here’s the wild part…

My Team Started Thriving—Without Me Hovering

This month, even in a short month like February, my team has more sales volume than almost any month in our entire history—second only to our highest month ever. And we still have a full week left.

This happened because:

➡️ I released the tension
➡️ I simplified the noise
➡️ I refocused on what matters

And I truly believe my team felt that energetic shift.

When you choose joy…
When you choose gratitude…
When you choose ease instead of stress…

Your business responds.

Pressure Creates Resistance. Alignment Creates Results.

Here’s what wasn’t working:

❌ Constantly checking my back office
❌ Making decisions from panic
❌ Trying to “fix” things by adding more
❌ Pouring from an empty cup
❌ Trying to control everything

Here’s what IS working:

✨ Choosing gratitude
✨ Being present
✨ Doing small daily tasks
✨ Giving myself grace
✨ Leading without over-managing
✨ Trusting my foundation

When I show up like the calm, aligned leader I want to be…
My team rises too.

If You’re Feeling This Way Too… Here Are Four Quick Tips

These are simple, actionable, and they WORK:

1. Go Back to Basics

Talk to humans.
Invite humans.
Serve humans.
Find more humans.
Repeat.

2. Stop Reinventing the Wheel

If it worked before, it will work again.
Your business doesn’t need a remodel—it needs consistency.

3. Protect Your Mental Space

Turn off notifications.
Set work hours.
Stop being instantly available to everyone.

Your peace matters.

4. Choose Small, Simple Actions Daily

Not a 3-hour hustle block.
Not a brand-new system.

Just one simple thing:
A follow-up, an invite, a story, a reel, a connection message.

Baby steps win the marathon every single time.
