🚗 A Car Ride, a Team Training, and an Aha Moment About Confidence
I’m recording this on my drive home from work (because car rides are basically where all my best ideas happen), and I was reflecting on a team training I listened to earlier today.
The leaders were asking team members questions like:
- “What’s your biggest challenge with recruiting?”
- “What’s hardest about booking parties?”
- “What’s holding you back from finding new customers?”
And the answers started rolling in:
“I don’t want to be spammy.”
“I don’t want to seem salesy.”
“I’m afraid people will think X.”
“I don’t want to bother anyone.”
“I’m scared they’ll judge me.”
Do you notice anything about those responses?
They’re all rooted in I… I… I…
And that’s when it hit me:
👉 So many of the struggles in this business come down to one thing: CONFIDENCE.
Not scripts.
Not strategy.
Not training.
Not talent.
Confidence.
Let’s unpack that.
⭐️ Do You Actually Believe in Yourself?
Here’s the truth you may not want to hear:
If you fully believed in yourself…
If you fully believed in your company…
If you fully believed in your product…
You wouldn’t be scared to:
✨ Ask someone to host a party
✨ Reach out to someone you think would be an amazing distributor
✨ Share a new launch
✨ Follow up with customers
✨ Talk openly about what you love
Think about it.
If someone reached out to YOU and said:
“I’ve been thinking about you. I really believe you’d be incredible at what I do. Would you be open to hearing more?”
…would you be offended?
Probably not.
You’d likely feel complimented.
And if someone actually does respond negatively?
❌ They are not your people.
❌ That is not a reflection on you.
❌ That is not a sign you should quit.
When you’re confident, “No” does not break you.
It barely bumps you.
💛 Confidence Creates Connection (Not Spam)
The number-one fear people share is:
“I don’t want to be spammy.”
Here’s the reality:
You’re not spammy when you’re acting from a place of service.
You’re spammy when you:
- Send novels in the DMs
- Word vomit the hostess rewards
- Attach 43 PDFs
- Copy/paste scripts
- Try to convince people
But when you have confidence and belief?
Your message becomes simple, clean, genuine, and human.
Example:
“Hey Sarah! I just wanted to share that I think you’d be amazing at what I do. I love this business and the community I’ve found, and I’d be happy to give you more info if you’re open to it!”
Short. Warm. Respectful.
Zero spam.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to be the top leader.

Asking:

…is just ONE extra sentence.
And if they say no?
“No” = “Not right now.”
But here’s the key:
Don’t only message people when you want something.
If someone says:
“Follow up with me in a month!”
Do NOT disappear for 30 days and then pop back in like:
“Hey! Ready to host now?”
Nope.
Instead, during the month:
- Comment on their posts
- React to their stories
- Send a quick “thinking of you!”
- Build the relationship
Real confidence isn’t about scripting.
It’s about connecting.

When you truly believe in yourself:
🚫 “No” doesn’t derail your mood
🚫 “No” doesn’t make you question everything
🚫 “No” doesn’t make you feel ashamed
🚫 “No” doesn’t create spirals
It simply becomes part of the process.
Like brushing your teeth.
Normal. Expected. Not emotional.
You hear 20 no’s?
Okay cool—you’re that much closer to a yes.
✨ Confidence Is a Muscle. Build It Gracefully.
Confidence isn’t something you magically “get.”
It’s something you build.
And building it takes:
